Comment les groupes parlementaires structurent la vie politique française

Remous provoqués par la scission de la Nouvelle union populaire écologique et sociale (Nupes) en quatre groupes politiques, interrogations autour de l’attribution aux groupes d’opposition de certains postes-clés à l’Assemblée nationale (vice-présidences, questures, présidence de la – très stratégique – commission des finances), réception des présidents des groupes par le président de la République au lendemain des élections, puis par la Première ministre à quelques jours de son discours de politique générale… La situation politique inédite résultant des élections législatives des 12 et 19 juin dernier met en lumière l’importance des groupes parlementaires, structures assez largement méconnues du grand public, ainsi que les enjeux liés à leur formation.

In the wake of the Buffalo and Uvalde mass shootings, 70% of Republicans said it is more important to protect gun rights than to control gun violence, while 92% of Democrats and 54% of independents expressed the opposite view. Just weeks after those mass shootings, Republicans and gun rights advocates hailed the Supreme Court ruling that invalidated New York state’s gun permit law and declared that the Second Amendment guarantees a right to carry a handgun outside the home for self-defense.
